Next Step for professional development

This Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) module equips students with the practical skills and mindset needed to become employable in today's global job market. Running as a virtual exchange between international partner institutions, the course addresses key building blocks of professional readiness: crafting an effective LinkedIn profile, writing a compelling CV and resume, and preparing for every stage of the interview process — before, during, and after.

Beyond technical job-search skills, the module places strong emphasis on personal and professional resilience, helping students learn to navigate failure and setbacks constructively. Participants will also explore how to adapt to evolving working environments and shifting professional roles, and will build their AI literacy by learning to use AI tools to support their career development.

A central feature of the course is direct exposure to global labor market needs, giving students the opportunity to engage with and learn from future employers and better understand what international markets expect from young professionals entering the workforce. Students will also have the opportunity to hear from alumni, who will share the challenges they faced and the lessons learned as they built their own professional pathways.

Through intercultural teamwork and cross-border collaboration, this COIL prepares students not only to find employment, but to thrive and adapt throughout their professional careers in a rapidly changing global economy.

Public Speaking

This Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) module brings together students and academics from twelve partner institutions across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa to develop practical public speaking skills through a five-week virtual exchange (October–November 2026). Combining synchronous expert-led lectures with asynchronous teamwork, the course guides participants through the full arc of preparing and delivering a public presentation — from storytelling and content design to stress management, body language, and time management. A dedicated session introduces the Scrum framework as a tool for turning ideas into structured presentations, and explores the use of AI to enhance presentation delivery.

Organized into small, tutor-supported international teams, students will apply these skills by researching and presenting on a global challenge in higher education or society more broadly, culminating in a final group presentation. Beyond building public speaking competence, the course fosters intercultural collaboration, communication, and teamwork across borders — key soft skills for academic and professional life in an increasingly interconnected world.

Cultural Communication

This course allows students to think deeply about how to communicate well with people from other cultures.

It is designed as a research workshop on multicultural communication so that students can understand and apply multicultural knowledge and skills in their personal and professional lives. Great emphasis will also be placed on how cultural communication can serve as a tool in any conflict-resolution case. 

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

This Virtual Exchange Course aims to cultivate participants’ essential abilities for effective interaction and relationship-building. Through synchronous and asynchronous activities, practical exercises, and theoretical insights, students enhance their proficiency in communication, active listening, and conflict resolution. This fosters their interpersonal effectiveness in both personal and professional contexts.
